Our Vision
Enhancing tensile strength and durability of coir yarns to meet modern agricultural demands through advanced D-FIBER processing technology.
Meeting Global Strength Standards
High-wind agricultural regions in countries such as the United States require twine with a minimum tensile strength of approximately 100N, while conventional coir twines typically withstand up to 80N.
Sri Lankan coir fibers already demonstrate higher natural tensile strength compared to many competing countries such as Indonesia and India. However, achieving consistent high-grade output requires improved extraction technology, particularly D-FIBER processing.
Standard coir twine output. Lower production cost but insufficient for high-wind agricultural regions.
Required for US export markets. Significantly higher quality output for premium applications.
The Investment Imperative
D-FIBER extraction provides significantly higher quality output compared to D-ONE fiber, making it essential for premium export-grade twine production.
Challenges of D-FIBER Processing
Despite these challenges, D-FIBER provides significantly higher quality output compared to D-ONE fiber. Aurevia Fiber Industries plans to invest in a D-FIBER extraction facility to improve cost efficiency at scale, maintain international quality standards, consistently achieve 100N+ tensile strength, and strengthen Sri Lanka's position in the global coir market.
Industry for People & Economy
The expansion of this industry represents both an economic and social opportunity for Sri Lanka's rural communities.
