Our Vision

Enhancing tensile strength and durability of coir yarns to meet modern agricultural demands through advanced D-FIBER processing technology.

Meeting Global Strength Standards

High-wind agricultural regions in countries such as the United States require twine with a minimum tensile strength of approximately 100N, while conventional coir twines typically withstand up to 80N.

Sri Lankan coir fibers already demonstrate higher natural tensile strength compared to many competing countries such as Indonesia and India. However, achieving consistent high-grade output requires improved extraction technology, particularly D-FIBER processing.

Conventional (D-ONE Fiber)
~80
Newtons tensile strength

Standard coir twine output. Lower production cost but insufficient for high-wind agricultural regions.

Premium (D-FIBER)
100+
Newtons tensile strength

Required for US export markets. Significantly higher quality output for premium applications.

The Investment Imperative

D-FIBER extraction provides significantly higher quality output compared to D-ONE fiber, making it essential for premium export-grade twine production.

Coir fiber processing machinery

Challenges of D-FIBER Processing

Higher Machinery Investment
D-FIBER extraction requires advanced machinery with significantly higher capital expenditure.
Increased Raw Material Cost
Processing costs per unit of raw coir fiber are higher due to more intensive extraction methods.
Higher Production Waste
D-FIBER processing generates more waste material during extraction compared to conventional methods.
Higher Operational Cost
Overall operational expenses increase, requiring careful cost management and scale efficiencies.
The Aurevia Response

Despite these challenges, D-FIBER provides significantly higher quality output compared to D-ONE fiber. Aurevia Fiber Industries plans to invest in a D-FIBER extraction facility to improve cost efficiency at scale, maintain international quality standards, consistently achieve 100N+ tensile strength, and strengthen Sri Lanka's position in the global coir market.

Industry for People & Economy

The expansion of this industry represents both an economic and social opportunity for Sri Lanka's rural communities.

Accessible Employment
Mechanization reduces physical strain, creating opportunities especially for women and rural communities.
Export Capacity
Increasing export capacity strengthens foreign exchange earnings during economically challenging periods.
International Brand
Building a strong international brand rooted in Sri Lanka's coir heritage while expanding into modern sustainable solutions.
